BERAT

Our tours will start operating in March 2025

Overview

Discover one of Albania’s most picturesque and charming traditional cities, the UNESCO-recognized town of Berat, known as the “City of a Thousand Windows.” This full-day tour will take you through the historical center, where Ottoman-style houses cling to the hillsides and overlook the Osum River.
On this tour, you will have the opportunity to visit the ancient Berat Castle, which still houses local families, and explore the Onufri Museum to admire Albania’s rich iconographic art. Enjoy the panoramic vistas of the Osumi River and the gorgeous landscape from your viewpoint atop the city.
Our guides will then take you through rustic narrow alleyways to the Mangalem and Gorica neighborhoods, where artisans used to create beautiful handmade goods and people hawked their wares to passerby. You will learn all about the mix of peoples, from Slavic to Ottoman to Orthodox Christian, who have called this small town home as you dive deep into Albania’s cultural and historical heritage.
