Curious to experience Albanian baking firsthand? Our byrek baking experience, where you will try your hand at baking one of Albania’s oldest traditional foods, will immerse you in an authentic cultural experience that combines food and storytelling!
This 1.5-hour long morning baking class will have participants get their hands full of flour in a behind-the-scenes experience at a bakery setting while a knowledgeable guide explains the significance of Albania’s most ancient legal code, the Kanun, and its impact on the cultural and social fabric of Albania.
Participants will hear epic stories from Albania’s most revered text as they roll dough and place their creation in the oven in this small group activity limited to just 12 people. You’ll leave this class an expert in how to bake Albanian byrek and more knowledgeable about Albanian culture and heritage.
